Florida Summer Heat

Writer's picture: Shane TrottierShane Trottier

We've had a pretty busy month from fishing charters to airboat rides and nothing but happy customers. It's definitely been a hot summer but it again hasn't stopped the fish from biting. The snook bite has been on fire at the inlet most days but so have the goliaths. It's been some tough fishing out there just trying to get the snook to the boat. You really got to be on point reeling those line siders in or else they get eaten. We've also started doing some bass fishing trips on Headwaters Lake and that has been a success. In all, the fishing has been pretty good no matter where we've tried. Fishing in the river has produced some decent redfish, snook, tripletail, and mangrove snapper, the inlet has produced some big snook, jacks, and goliath grouper, nearshore reefs have had good numbers of lane snapper and an occasional cobia, and freshwater trips have had great numbers of largemouth bass and tilapia. Hoping to have the other boat back online soon so we can get some offshore trips running again too.
