Captain Shane Trottier is a local Floridian born and raised in Melbourne, FL.  He has been fishing and hunting the waters of the Indian River Lagoon and the St. John's River Marsh nearly all his life.  Shane is a USCG licensed Master Captain as well an FWC Certified Airboat Operator.  Captain Shane created Whatever Turns U On Fishing to provide Florida's Brevard county area with one of the best fishing guide services around.  Captain Shane has always been passionate about fishing but most of all making people happy, and what better way than to help them land some of Florida's most prized game fish.

 

Whatever Turns U On Fishing Charters is based out of Malabar, FL and here to offer you the fishing trip of your dreams.  Captain Shane is a lifelong fisherman who will be happy to do everything in his power to get you hooked up.

 

This a kid friendly charter so bring the little ones and create some great ever lasting memories. We use several techniques from live baits to artificial lures, drift fishing, trolling, bottom fishing, fishing around docks, reefs, and mangrove shorelines.  We provide fishing licenses for all Saltwater trips for up to 4 people, rods, reels, bait, and tackle.  We provide bows and fishing equipment for freshwater trips but you will have to purchase your own Florida freshwater fishing license for freshwater trips.

 

Fishing locations will vary depending on what you want to do.  A standard saltwater inshore trip will take place in the Indian River Lagoon or Sebastian Inlet areas in between Melbourne and Sebastian, FL.  Freshwater bowfishing trips will be held out near Three Forks Marsh Recreation Area in Palm Bay, FL, and all airboat rides will depart from the Camp Holly boat ramp in West Melbourne off of 192.

"Even as a straight A student all through school I could never figure out what I wanted to do for a living.  I've had a passion for fishing my entire life and I love to make people happy.  One of my biggest inspirations was watching Addictive Fishing with Capt. Blair Wiggins.  One day my buddy Weston and I went kayak fishing up in an area we watched on one of Blair's fishing shows.  I was out of my kayak cast netting for bait when all of a sudden I noticed a redfish tailing right next to me.  I didn't have my fishing rod handy so I called Weston over to cast at the redfish.  I told Weston to throw his bait just past the fish. Then I said reel it in, reel it in, now stop.  Almost instantly the redfish dropped down and ate his bait, fish on!!! That moment hit me so hard and I knew right then and there that's what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.  Soon after, I decided to get my Captain's license.  Some days it does feel like work and surprisingly being a fishing guide is very stressful but if I were to win the lottery and never have to work again I'd still do it".

"The company name was created from a saying my grandmother used when I was little.  Whenever she would babysit me we would sit down together and watch the Home Shopping Network most of the time.  Every time she would laugh and say "whatever turns u on".  That saying has stuck with me my entire life.  When my grandparents passed away, my family spread their ashes into the ocean at Sebastian Inlet on the outgoing tide.  I know they are with me every time I go through there so I decided to name the business after my grandma".
