Offshore Has Been On Fire

The snapper fishing has been fantastic the last few weeks. The seas have been pretty calm allowing us to run out and hit a bunch of different spots. We've been catching numbers of lane and mangrove snapper with occasional mahi, cobia, and kingfish in the mix while freelining live baits. A couple of spots have produced some decent numbers of triggerfish as well. The primary bottom bait has been live shrimp and pilchards. For our flat line baits live mullet, threadfins, and croakers have been the go to. If the bottom water temps are cold we might switch up to freelining chunks of sardines to catch the big mangos in the chum slick. Overall our offshore trips have produced some good numbers of keeper fish lately with some nice bags of filets going home with the customers.
