Chilly Weather

It's the start of November and we've already been getting hit with cold fronts. Not as windy of a November as previous years but definitely chilly air and chilly water.

The lagoon has been a little slow because of the chilly water so we've been hitting the inlet a lot more the last couple weeks. Not saying there isn't fish to be caught in the river, just a little slower of a bite. Speckled trout and sheepshead are usually the targets for the chilly lagoon.

The snook bite has been hot one day then dead the next at the inlet. Right now it's been all about figuring out what's on the snooks dinner menu that day. One day it's pigfish, the next it's pinfish, the next day it's shrimp and croakers, then back to pinfish. I don't know what changes them day to day but they are some very irritating and picky fish. The inlet holds all types of fish this time of year, not just snook. In November we get redfish, bluefish, jack crevalles, and black drum cruising through.

We just ended our gator hunting season and we were able to fill everyone's tags. Hopefully next season we'll get a bunch more tags and can dominate the swamp.

Bowfishing is great as always, plenty of tilapia, gar, and bowfin out there for anybody wanting to be Robin Hood. If you can figure it out, you can fill the cooler in no time.
