Well guys and gals the 2025 Fall snook season has officially begun. The Fall snook season in our area runs from September 1st to December 15th. We can keep 1 snook per angler that measure between 28" to 32". Opening day at the inlet was a mad house. There had to be at least 15 boats surrounding the north jetty with upwards of 200 people fishing from the jetty. Not to mention it being Labor Day so there was a lot of boat traffic. We didn't hang out at the jetty very long until we decided to make a change and fish the river instead. The river was slow but we ended with a snook, redfish, and a few jacks. I got reports from a couple other captains that stayed at the inlet and nobody caught anything so I'm glad we went inside after all. I've noticed throughout the years of hunting and fishing the fish, deer, even alligators get pressured so bad the first week of the season they just don't show up to the party. We've also had a whole bunch of rain lately and the water levels have went up a bunch so that could definitely be a contributing factor on the bite. The fall mullet run is just starting up north as well. I'd say the bite will most likely pick up in the next week or so and we'll be ringing that snook bell non stop. I always say late September and October are my most favorite months to inshore fish.
A new trip we've added into the adventure is Alligator Hunting. If you have your own gator tags and no way to get on the water then we've got you covered. We have all the gear and equipment needed to hunt alligators. We've had a couple successful hunts this season in the Lake Hell n Blazes area that resulted in two 7' gators and a 6 footer. Nothing too massive but great eating sizes. It's not so easy getting up on these gators after the season starts. When it's off season we can pull the airboat right up next to a monster alligator with no problem. When the season starts it's a whole new ball game. The hunts can be boring as hell until it's not. You gotta be extremely patient and quiet and wait. Them big 10' or 12' gators don't get that big being dumb.
