Winter Time

Well..... I haven't posted a report in a few months but we're back in action again. Been filling in running airboats out at Camp Holly for the last few months so we haven't had too much time to go out fishing lately. We've hit the fishing grounds quite a bit in the last couple weeks and there has been no disappointment, just like riding a bike. Well the weather hasn't been all that great, cold and windy is what mother nature has been giving us to work with but that's normal this time of year. The water in the lagoon has been cold 60 to 65 degree water temp and we're not seeing too much action. Some of the backwater areas have been holding a few decent sheepshead and black drum. With the north jetty being closed has made for some fantastic fishing at the Sebastian Inlet. The Inlet has been pretty hot when the weather allows us to get outside the jetty. Black drum, redfish, snook, sheepshead, jack crevalle, and bluefish have all been hitting quite well. We've been throwing live shrimp, threadfins, finger mullet, croakers, and fiddler crabs. This time of year is definitely for the tough fishermen though. Be patient and tough it out and you'll most likely be rewarded with the prize. February 1st starts up snook season again so be ready, the spring season should be one hell of a good time this year.
